Dressing the part
I’ve always told my wife that when I die, I want to be buried wearing my favourite pair of jeans, t-shirt, tennis shoes and my hat. In my entire working career, I’ve only worn jeans. For the past few years, I’ve been able to pull off just wearing printed tees to work.
Now, I’m trying to change that.
It’s not a huge deal, but with my new position at work, I decided to at least pretend to be more professional. So, I went out and picked up a few button down shirts. It’s nothing too fancy, and I’m still wearing jeans and tennis shoes to work, but it’s a step forward. You have to be the change you want to see in the world, and I don’t want to be where I am now forever. So it’s time to start dressing the part.
One step at time.
