Back to work!

Today, I go back to work after being off for over a week.  I don’t usually take vacations but this was something special.

My beautiful baby girl turned 1 and I turned 31.  Here’s a stupid realization, I’m always going to be 30 years older than her.  I do feel a little old now.  🙂

I had made huge plans for what I wanted to accomplish.  In the end, I didn’t finish anything on my list.  I bought the new faucet for our sink, but the money ran out when it came time to install shut off valves under each sink or even just the kitchen sink.  Our bedroom TV was supposed to be mounted on the wall, but funds ran out so I couldn’t buy the mount or romex to install a new electrical outlet.  And I didn’t install a second brace for the ceiling fan like I had planned because of scheduling conflicts with my wife.  (You can’t leave children unattended while you climb in an attic!)

On the upside, we did get family pictures taken.  Two big bills were paid off.  The network was updated.

And I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with my kids.  I’m not sure how my daughter is going to react today without me around.  These last two days she’s been incredibly clingy to me.

Onward and upward.  🙂
