Three weeks ago…

Three weeks ago, I was celebrating the triumphant return of my wife and our beautiful daughter to our new home. In the intervening time, I’ve spent my days not quite doting on both of them, but at least trying to make sure both their needs have been met.

For three weeks, I’ve lived, laughed and loved with my family. For three weeks, I’ve enjoyed showing off my family and spending time at home. For three weeks, I’ve been a slacker.

And I’ve loved it.

I almost dread going back to work, to the same routine, to the same tired bullshit. I don’t honestly recall ever voicing this as a concern, but many people have told me that I’m bored by my job. While this may or may not be true, the question needs to be asked: which came first the chicken or the egg? Was I bored before this claimed observation of my perspective was made? Or did I become bored once someone voiced this?

I’m going back because it pays the bills.  Because it gets me out of the house.  Because if I don’t, people would talk.   Bah.

One day, I’ll get to do what I really want to do.  Maybe.

Please, don’t forget to donate! 😀
