Life in the new house

We’re on our second week in the new house and it’s been interesting.  And I mean that in a good way.

It hasn’t taken nearly as long as I thought it would to adjust to life here.  My son fell asleep immediately that first night and hasn’t had a problem sleeping through the night.   My wife is in love the open space and the possibilities.

The cat…. I hate the cat.   The first day he was very skittish.  But once he was able to find familiar scents, he seemed to be fine.  So fine, that he felt comfortable puking twice in as many days.   On our new carpet.

I hate the cat.

We’re still putting stuff away.  I actually cut a hole in the wall the other day so I could run a few network jacks.  That was painful.  It didn’t quite work out the way I expected, but then again, what does?

Our neighbors seem nice enough.  It took me a week to meet the guy to the north of us.  I think his name is Andrew.    I love having a farm as our back yard.  The sunrises have been absolutely beautiful. If it weren’t for the fact that Meg packed away our camera in the overnight bag, I’d be taking pictures of it.

Yes, I could take it out, but I wouldn’t forget to put it back. And if it wasn’t there for when the baby decided to show up, I’d be in a world of hurt.

I like living.  😛
